Azurite is a striking copper carbonate mineral, treasured for its deep, velvety blues that range from midnight indigo to vibrant royal azure. Formed within oxidised copper deposits where mineral-rich waters slowly crystallize through rock cavities and seams, Azurite often grows in clusters, nodules or alongside its green companion Malachite. With a softness of 3.5–4 on the Mohs scale and a naturally brittle structure, it remains delicate and best appreciated in its raw, natural form. Found in regions such as Morocco, Australia, the USA, Namibia and Mexico, each piece carries the ancient imprint of the Earth’s slow transformation of copper into stone.
