Danburite is a beautiful calcium boron silicate mineral that forms in prismatic crystals, often similar in appearance to Topaz. Its colour can range from colourless and white through to pale yellow and light brown, with high-quality specimens often beautifully clear and transparent. With a hardness of 7–7.5 on the Mohs scale and a vitreous, glass-like lustre, Danburite can have a wonderfully bright and sparkling appearance.
 
Originally named after its discovery locality of Danbury, Connecticut, Danburite is now found in several locations around the world. Some particularly beautiful and highly sought-after specimens come from Charcas, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, an area well known for its Danburite crystals.
Energetically, Danburite is considered a very high-vibrational stone, strongly connected with both the Heart and Crown Chakras.
