Green Aventurine is a variety of Quartz characterised by its shimmering effect, known as aventurescence, caused by inclusions of minerals such as Fuchsite (a chromium-rich mica). Its soft green colour may range from pale to deep tones depending on the concentration of these inclusions.
 
Formed within igneous and metamorphic environments, Green Aventurine may be found in locations including India, Brazil, Russia and Tanzania. With a hardness of 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale, it is a durable stone commonly used in jewellery, carvings and energy work.
