Libyan Desert Glass is a rare natural silica glass formed approximately 26–29 million years ago in the Sahara Desert, near the Libyan–Egyptian border. Created by extreme heat — most likely from a meteorite airburst or impact — desert sand was rapidly melted and cooled, forming this striking golden material. Despite its cosmic origin, no definitive impact crater has been identified, adding to its mystery and allure.
 
Ranging from pale yellow to rich golden tones, Libyan Desert Glass is known for its translucent glow and high silica purity.
