Lodolite Phantom Quartz is a beautiful form of included Quartz containing natural mineral inclusions such as chlorite, iron oxides, hematite, clay minerals and other trace minerals. What makes this particular formation significant is the presence of a clearly defined phantom — a ghost-like outline of an earlier stage of the Quartz crystal's growth preserved within the crystal itself.
Phantoms form when a Quartz crystal temporarily pauses in its growth, allowing minerals to settle across its surface. When the Quartz begins growing again, it develops over this earlier layer, preserving the shape of the original crystal inside. The result is a natural record of growth, interruption and renewal.
