Seraphinite is a rare, radiant variety of Clinochlore, part of the Chlorite mineral group, known for its deep green tones and shimmering, feathery silver patterns that resemble angel wings. This iridescent effect — called chatoyancy — comes from fine, reflective fibres within its layered crystal structure. With a hardness of 2–2.5 on the Mohs scale, Seraphinite forms in magnesium-rich metamorphic rocks, particularly schists and is found mainly near Lake Baikal, Siberia — its only significant source.
