Shungite is a unique, carbon-rich mineraloid composed primarily of nearly pure carbon, often containing naturally occurring fullerene structures. It is found almost exclusively in the Karelia region of Russia, where it formed over two billion years ago through ancient organic processes. With a hardness of approximately 3.5–4 on the Mohs scale, it is a relatively soft yet highly significant stone both geologically and energetically.
